The sun rose a total of 12,275 times in the six Vivantes birth clinics in 2017 - because that's exactly how many babies were born there. For the trust of the mothers and fathers, we say a sincere thank you!
If you ask expectant mothers what they wish for the upcoming delivery, the answer in most cases is: "A beautiful birth!" There are many wishes behind this statement - the main ones are these: I want to feel in good and safe hands. I want friendly and caring midwives and doctors to accompany me during the birth. My partner or a companion should be allowed to be present. I hope for a natural delivery. I would like to have my baby close to me at all times after the birth, if possible. In case of complications, I need to be sure that help can be given quickly. The highly qualified staff at Vivantes have earned the trust of expectant mothers and fathers through their empathy and professional competence - they confirm this again and again, day after day.

At all Vivantes obstetrics locations in Berlin, mother and child are always the focus of all efforts. The doctors, physicians and midwives are by your side to support expectant mothers and their families during, as well as before and after, the birth, supported by state-of-the-art technology. Although the teams in the six birth clinics are well-rehearsed and the procedures are routine - it is always a unique event when a baby is born. Midwife Laura-Jane Sinani from Vivantes Neukölln Hospital put it aptly:"Every birth is like a sunrise that puts a smile on your face."
The Mother-and-Child Center at Vivantes Neukölln Hospital is one of the largest maternity clinics in Germany. Dr. Babett Ramsauer, the senior physician, is also responsible for the medical management of the delivery room. 3147 babies, including 256 twins and 6 triplets, were born here in 2017. As a Perinatal Center of the Highest Level (Level 1), it also caters to high-risk pregnancies, premature babies from 23 weeks of pregnancy and newborns with congenital diseases. "We pride ourselves on providing the best obstetric and medical care to both mother and child in every situation. Our Mother-and-Child Center is comprised of the Obstetrics Clinic and the Pediatrics Clinic. The delivery room and the pediatric clinic are located next door to each other - these are the best prerequisites for being prepared for all eventualities and being able to react appropriately right away," says the doctor.
With its comprehensive range of services, Vivantes Neukölln Hospital covers the entire spectrum of pregnancy, from the beginning to aftercare. This includes monthly information evenings, initial discussions in the consultation hours, further consultations in the obstetrics outpatient clinic and in the Medical Care Center (MVZ) for Prenatal Diagnostics. Childbirth preparation classes can be attended at the Children's Health Center. A preterm labor ward with six rooms, seven delivery rooms, modern and equipped with aids (e.g. birthing stool, birthing tub), are available for delivery. Outpatient birth is also possible. A registry office, parents' hotel, family room - everything has been thought of. The "Babyguide" project supports parents in the time after the birth. Detailed advice is also provided on aftercare.
Dr. Dagmar Niemann, senior physician at the Vivantes Neukölln Hospital Maternity Clinic, enjoys her job every day:"Guiding an expectant mother or couple through a birth and using my knowledge and skills to bring this important event to a good end for mother and child is a fulfilling task."
