Vivantes has established the Directorate of Clinical Research and Academic Teaching to promote and coordinate research and science within the Group.
The interface between science and practice: enormous potential
Vivantes has a special potential with its nine clinics ranging from basic and standard care to maximum care. In addition to providing outstanding medical patient care, many physicians at Vivantes provide innovative cutting-edge medicine and are active in medical science, university teaching, clinical research, and scientific professional societies. All nine Vivantes hospitals are academic teaching hospitals of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
Directorate of Clinical Research and Academic Teaching
The Directorate of Clinical Research and Academic Teaching reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Management. It serves as an interface between the scientifically working physicians and other employees in the company on the one hand and external partners ("Site Management Organization") on the other hand.
Tasks of the Directorate
All clinical studies within the scope of drug trials and all trials of medical devices in the Group are bundled and coordinated in accordance with the German Drug Law (AMG) and the German Medical Devices Law (MPG). However, the Clinical Research Directorate is not a medical contract research organization (CRO).
Further tasks are the coordination of scientific consulting contracts of Vivantes physicians with external partners (CROs, authorities, pharmaceutical companies, institutions), sponsoring, hospitation contracts and donations.
