Certificate attests to excellent treatment quality Europe-wide

Vivantes Auguste-Viktoria Hospital recognized as Berlin's first "European Center of Excellence for Spine Surgery

After an extensive audit, the Clinic for Spine Surgery at Vivantes Auguste-Viktoria Hospital, under the direction of head physician PD Dr. Mario Cabraja, received the certificate "European Center of Excellence for Spine Surgery" on August 23, 2021. The award is presented by the organization "Eurospine".

The certificate attests to the particularly high quality of treatment at the Clinic for Spinal Surgery, which is characterized, among other things, by a high number of cases, a broad spectrum of therapies, state-of-the-art equipment, and interdisciplinary integration of relevant specialties. There are now eight hospitals in Germany that have received this award.

PD Dr. Mario Cabraja, Chief Physician of the Clinic for Spine Surgery at Vivantes Auguste-Viktoria Hospital and Focus TOP Physician Spine Surgery: "The certificateas "European Center of Excellence for Spine Surgery" is an outstanding success for our clinic and shows that our interdisciplinary therapy approach is working. We are very fortunate to have experts from all the necessary disciplines at the site, who enable our patients to receive the best possible care across their own disciplinary boundaries. My special thanks go to all of them."

Martin Große, Managing Director of Vivantes Auguste-Viktoria Hospital: "Our hospital is the first hospital in Berlin to be awarded the certificate "European Center of Excellence for Spine Surgery" - clear proof that we are continuously improving the quality of our services and are a competent partner for people far beyond our home district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Congratulations, PD Dr. Cabraja and all other colleagues involved!"

Interdisciplinary cooperation

The medical team around head physician PD Dr. Cabraja works closely with, among others, the Endoprosthetics Center of the Clinic for Orthopedics, the newly created Center for Infectious Medicine, the Clinic for Neurology, the Clinic for Radiology and Interventional Therapy, and Vivantes Rehabilitation.

Clinic already certified by German Spine Society

Already in 2017, the Clinic for Spine Surgery was awarded by the German Spine Society as the first spine specialist center in Berlin-Brandenburg at that time.
