I am interested in a certain program. How do I apply?
If you are an institutional client, you can contact the International Office directly. We will prepare an individual program in respect of first-class further education or postgraduate education for your employees/physicians. Our programs address themselves exclusively to institutional clients. Please refrain from individual applications. We also beg you not to contact single head physicians or clinics.
What language skills are being required?
A good command of English is required for the 1-3 month Philosophy-Program.
Regarding the education needed to become a German Facharzt which normally takes at least 5 years and which includes the regular and intensive contact with our mainly German-speaking patients, we expect German-skills at least at the B2 level.
The Individual-Program normally requires German-skills but a very good command of English will be sufficient in exceptional cases as well.
How long does it take from the inquiry to the start of the program?
We will prepare an individual program immediately after your first inquiry. However, a couple of formalities have to be completed before the employment of your physicians at the Vivantes hospitals, i.e. also if both sides have decided to implement a certain program. A preparation-time of at least one month can arise in case of the Philosophy-Program due to the visa- and work-permit-application resp. due to the taking out of an insurance policy according to German law. At least six months of preparation-time should be considered – depending on the specialization – as regards the other two programs.
What support may I expect on the part of Vivantes?
After a program has been scheduled, the Vivantes International team will gladly support you in the completion of any formalities. We can apply for a visa at the embassy, support you in the application for a German professional license and work-permit and help you in respect of German insurance companies. We also gladly organize accommodations for the participants prior to their arrival. You can contact us, as a matter of course, also at any time after your arrival and we will find a solution for every problem
